Say what you will about Tom Cruise, and believe me I’ve said plenty, but the fourth installment of the “Mission Impossible” franchise – “Ghost Protocol,” is flat-out awesome.

Cruise returns as venerable agent Ethan Hunt, and he’s brought a new cast of agents to this “Mission.” Hunt is charged with breaking into the Kremlin and stealing some sensitive information, but things go wrong and there’s an explosion that Hunt and the IMF get blamed for. An IMF Secretary (an unbilled but effective as always Oscar nominee Tom Wilkinson) informs Hunt that the President has invoked “Ghost Protocol,” meaning that the IMF is essentially dead to the Federal Government.
